Throughout the past three years, we have presented over six million baht donation to 27 foundations. This clearly confirms our commitment to growing our business and promoting the sustainable development of communities, society and the environment. Together, we are materializing our vision of “being a major sustainable Thai energy company with full commitment to environment protection and social development support,” said Mr. Gumpanart.

The nine foundations receiving donation from “The Spirit: Pay It Forward Season 3” campaign this year are the Children’s Hospital Foundation's “One Heart for a New Life” project, the Rajavithi Hospital Foundation’s "Rajavithi Hospital: Good for the Heart, Great for Merit” project, the Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, the Foundation for Community Health under the Patronage of H.R.H. Mr. Pavit Poonyarit, M.D., Managing Director of Children's Hospital Foundation, said the donation from “The Spirit: Pay It Forward Season 3” charitable campaign by EGCO Group will be used in supporting “One Heart for a New Life” project of the foundation. The project aims to provide heart surgery to improve the quality of life of children born with severe and complicated congenital heart disease. Many patients have limited access to such operations due to high costs. Without timely operations, the patients will have high risk of death in a short period. So far, the foundation has already enabled 25-30 newborns to have access to heart surgery.

Mr. Udom Chaovarindr, M.D., Rajavithi Hospital Foundation’s Director and Manager, said that with the donation from EGCO Group, the foundation will purchase fetal monitors for use in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Rajavithi Hospital. Donation from the private sectors and the general public is crucial to support the operations and procurement of medical equipment at the hospital that serves 5,000-10,000 patients per day and most of the them are low-income earners.

Mr. Suwat Parinyapariwat, Director and Treasurer of Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, and Mr. Apiwat Buapan, Legal Advisor, thanked EGCO Group for the donation which will be used to help the mentally retarded and their families, especially in physical development, education, career training, socialization, and welfare service access in order to help them develop required skills and become independent. The foundation currently has 10 offices nationwide and 150 staff members serving more than 600 mentally retarded people per year.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Vijak Chimchome, Secretary of Hornbill Research Foundation appreciated “The Spirit: Pay It Forward Season 3” campaign by EGCO Group for its support and understanding of the importance of the foundation’s activities. Since 1978, the foundation has continuously studied, researched, and preserved hornbills living in the nature, believing that it is better to preserve the rich nature than rehabilitation. The foundation has been working hard to make the society and communities realize the importance of hornbills as an important indicator of the abundance of the forest and nature. At the same time, the foundation has successfully increased hornbill population in the nature across the country, including Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province, and Budo Su-ngai Padi National Park in Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala provinces.
