EGCO Group receives top award at “Sustainability Disclosure 2023” for 5th consecutive year
Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group received the award for the 5th consecutive year at the recent “Sustainability Disclosure 2023” award ceremony held by Thaipat Institute. The achievement reiterates EGCO Group’s transparency in disclosure of sustainability information in all aspects – economy, environment, society, and corporate governance, which is in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ms. Kulkanok Leongsoithong, EGCO Group’s SVP-Corporate Secretary, represented the company in receiving the award from Ms. Veraya Preeyapan, Director of the Sustainability Disclosure Community (SDC) of Thaipat Institute, at the award presentation ceremony recently held at Bangkok Art and Culture Center.
Ms. Kulkanok Leongsoithong, EGCO Group’s SVP-Corporate Secretary, said, “EGCO Group has been operating power and energy-related businesses for over 31 years with strong commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability. The company has integrated the sustainability concept into every operational process and strictly implemented it in all areas EGCO Group is operating our business. We are also committed to driving towards our Net Zero goal by 2050. As part of this, EGCO Group has disclosed sustainability information in transparent, equitable, and equal manner in the One Report and the Sustainability Report published on the company’s website. This is to allow all stakeholders to have access to the information, monitor and drive the company’s sustainability related activities to continue efficiently.”
Thaipat Institute annually holds the Sustainability Disclosure award presentation ceremony in recognition of members of Sustainability Disclosure Community who have disclosed relative information publicly in accordance with the completeness, credibility, and effective communication principles in support of SDG 12.6 “encourage companies, especially large and trans-national companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle”. In 2023, 132 Sustainability Disclosure Community members have received such recognitions, including 54 awards, 50 recognitions, and 28 acknowledgements.
