EGCO Group, Quezon Power and Doosan to Jointly Study Ammonia Co-firing at Quezon Power Plant in Luzon
Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group, Quezon Power (Philippines), Limited Co., and Doosan Enerbility Co., Ltd recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (“MOU”) to study the feasibility of ammonia co-fired power generation at EGCO Group’s Quezon power plant in the Philippines to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The MOU will support EGCO Group’s strategic plan to reduce its carbon dioxide emission intensity by 10% within 2030. Furthermore, EGCO Group’s “Cleaner, Smarter and Stronger to Drive Sustainable Growth” business direction aims to promote sustainable growth over the long term for its businesses in the region including QPL with an ultimate goal for EGCO Group of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
