EGCO Group granted “Human Rights Awards 2024” for 3rd consecutive year, confirming its commitment on comprehensive human rights policy
Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group was granted the “Human Rights Awards 2024”, large business organization category, outstanding level, for the third consecutive year from the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection under the Ministry of Justice. The recognition is a clear proof of EGCO Group’s commitment to promoting human rights among all stakeholders in an equitable and equal manner. The practice becomes an integral part of its organizational culture. Ms. Salil Tirawat, EGCO Group’s Executive Vice President – Corporate Management, represented the company to receive the award from Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, at award announcement ceremony held recently at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok.
Ms. Salil Tirawat, EGCO Group’s Executive Vice President – Corporate Management, said that believing that “a good beginning results in good ending,” EGCO Group is aware of and places high importance on human rights, which are the basic rights that everyone shall equally have. Therefore, the company values human differences as well as supporting gender diversity and equality. EGCO Group has focused on anti-harassment and anti-child labor practices, and promotion of knowledge and understanding among its employees of all levels to enable employees to treat others with dignity. The whistleblowing and investigation processes have been improved for better efficiency. The company, therefore, has been widely recognized as a caring organization.

The Human Rights Awards is annually organized by the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice. The objective is to select organizations in the government, state enterprise, business, social enterprise, and people’s sectors with outstanding performance and initiatives by adhering to the human rights principle. They are good role models for others in promoting human rights protection. The awards also support the development of Thailand’s overall human rights situations. In 2024, 97 awards were granted to selected organizations from 203 applications.
